If you want to be perpetually virtuous within the popular cultural climate of the day, you really can't have any principles. Principles are for people capable of owning unpopular opinions. That's not all of us.

Maybe. What happens if the rail unions tell him to pound sand and strike anyway? Does Biden then turn the Democrats into the union busting party?
