Interesting stuff. I didn't realize that there were so few Neanderthals around and that the groups tended to be pretty isolated.

I am suspicious of articles that end up with the major point of over exploitation, that they started with the end in mind. Human history is fascinating, and our current situation probably the least interesting part.

I find the article kind of nonsensical. They start with the premise that population density would be far lower due to the inherent genetic makeup of the Neanderthal to stay in small family groups. Well, if that’s true then why are we even having this conversation? The Neanderthal never stood a chance at surviving because of that basic trait.
