Black Friday? Cyber Monday?

We’re doing experiences over stuff. No one we know needs stuff.
Today we went to daughter’s favorite spots while she was in class buying gift cards. We’ve bought her a few little things - ornaments for her tree, etc, but she will be moving after she graduates and already has too much stuff.

Report says Black Friday foot traffic was modest in brick and mortar stores.

I was horrified that my mom and wife were considering going to macy's yesterday. Crisis averted when they decided it might not be the best idea. Then a friend messaged my wife that she went to macy's and waited for an hour in the checkout line. I told them that people who go out on Black Friday do it because on some level they enjoy competitive shopping and huge crowds. So if you don't enjoy that, you should stay home. I was told I had no idea what I was talking about and that people go because they can save money, and everybody hates the crowds. My genius insights into the human condition are as unappreciated in real life as they are on TNCR. Sad.

How much is your wife's time worth, per hour? If the amount of money saved by "competitive shopping" - and that's a great description - exceeds that, then it's a net loss, amirite?

I have tried using that argument with my wife so many times when she has a chore for me. Want to guess how many times it has worked?

Right. Also I think an hour of shopping amongst swarming idiots, is worth a lot more than most any other sort of hour.
Also I think the discounts available are overestimated.

You’d have to price in her net satisfaction with the entire outing too.

Just tell her that she's overreacting and to calm down.
That usually works.

Should I also point out that she is likely over emotional due to the raging hormones from her monthly cycle? -

I took advantage of sales on things I buy periodically. Amazon had a lot on sale, like vitamins and some toiletry items.
That led me to look up multi-vitamin supplements on Amazon.com and indeed at this time it offers some savings over my other sources, so I placed an order. Thanks, @jon-nyc.
For those looking for external SSDs, Amazon.com has got the Samsung EVO 870 series on pretty steep discount.
Apple Inc. stuff ... Apple Store gives you gift cards for select items but Costco seems to directly discount the sale price and offers further savings (e.g., Apple Store has the basic M1 MacBook Air at $1000 paired with a $150 gift card but Costco just sells it at $800).

Does those type of hard drives fit into a "dock" like the one you and @George-K suggested before?

If it's a SATA interface, then yes.
There's a nice selection at NewEgg that'll work.
There's a Western Digital "Green" 1TB for $50. 2TB is $140.

I went out on a Black Friday sale a few years back for something I needed, but I went at 8:00 pm, a hour before closing. Stores were empty, lines nonexistent. I was able to do a lot in a short amount of time. Now, we rarely set foot in stores - except for groceries or when something requires being tried on or demonstrated.
