I can't imagine trying to do the job of President of the US at age 80. Obviously, each person is different, but 80 is too old. Same for Supreme Court judges, etc.
But, think if we lived in Malaysia.
Former PM of Malaysia, Mahathir Mohamad was trying to get elected and become Prime Minister at the age of 97.
Lost his election bid, so probably his is (finally) done.
