You guys seem to spend a lot of time worrying about politics.

I wouldn’t go to a Springsteen concert because I don’t like his music. I think a musician’s political beliefs are pretty much irrelevant.

You’re doing the same thing you complain about the left doing.

    @Doctor-Phibes

Never cared for his music either, can’t relate to it. He did however do great cover of the old gospel tune O Mary Don’t You Weep on the Seeger Sessions Album.

Don’t care about his politics or his sexual life either. Am sure it’s all the usual gossipy bullshit from his detractors.

If you take time to listen to the lyrics of his music, it's depressing gloom and doom.

Not a lyric person. In fact when I hear a song I normally listen to what the band is doing to back up the singer. To be honest I rarely even pay attention to the story behind the lyrics. In short, I hear the melody but not the song itself.

So who is considered politically acceptable to listen to for conservatives?

Ted Nugent and Morrisey would presumably be ok if they weren’t so shit.

Donald Trump seemed quite keen on The Village People, but you know what - I think a couple of those guys might not be completely heterosexual…

          I was only joking

Mona Lisa Twins are pretty cool.

I don't mix politics and entertainment. trump liked Kanye. I don't.

Dixie Chicks didn't like Bush. I like the chick's music.

See? It's easy. You just don't pay attention to people whose opinions on politics don't matter.

Pretty sure anybody who watches movies or TV, or listens to popular music, does so knowing the people involved are mostly outspoken leftists.

The problem is when these asshats do this I tend to lose respect for them, regardless of what they're saying.

I can put aside the Dixie Chicks' politics when listening to their music, but I just can't quite not hear all the other shit they said. It's better when they "shut up and sing." Because of all the controversy they inspired, it's always in the back of my head.

Similarly, when a fun show like "The Good Fight" starts having scenes with characters having nightmares about Trump getting elected or DeSantis being a child molester.

If I want to be preached at, I'll go to church.

I think that Mr. Springsteen has a point about pricing. I was reading that somewhere about 25-30% of tickets to big concerts are re-sold for prices higher than the original

So, if an artist wants to keep most of the revenue for themselves, since they are the ones producing the output, that is one way of doing it.

(I should add that I like Springsteen and his music so probably a bit bias by what he says. LOL)

Actually, artists could do like Garth Brooks. When he started touring again, he would just keep adding shows until the shows would no longer sell out. That way , he figured that the re-sale market would be very small.
