Sure. I totally get what he is saying but maybe some people can’t or just don’t want to. Hopefully the people here are of the latter.

"We are going to be stronger than ever before" seemed to be the main conclusion, based on the fact that the flu has many names. Not exactly a convincing PhD defence IMHO. YMMV, obviously.

I thought he was attempting an impression of a stand up comedian. The cadence and delivery were almost there. I give him credit where credit is due, obviously.

I don't really know enough about all the other blokes. After watching a biography, it struck me that Teddy Roosevelt was pretty extraordinary. He actually did all the stuff that Trump likes to think he'd do if only he got the opportunity.

The thing that is a baffle to me is that this pandemic has been the NUMBER 1 issue in the US for the last three months. Either President Trump is really that ignorant and does not know what meaning behind the name COVID-19, or he intentionally is trying to be funny like @Renauda and @Loki indicates.
In either case, it makes him look bad.
I think President Trump is turning out to be the best campaigner for Vice President Biden. The smartest thing that Vice President Biden can do is sit back and let President Trump continue to dig himself a deeper hole.

I don’t disagree except that it blows me away that people could actually believe that he doesn’t know. I truly hope they are just being obtuse because it is so obvious what he is doing.
