Despite the current polls, I think Trump is seriously worried about DeSantis. The other day he suggested that DeSantis not run this year.
"If you're catching flak..."

He's certainly been a real competitor in terms of the news cycle over the last few months, if not GOP voters. That is probably enough in itself to focus Trump on taking him down a peg.

I don't know a lot about DeSantis, but I assume all politicians are products of what they think their voters want. I would prefer him to Trump, for sure. The cultural baggage of Trump isn't worth it.

@jon-nyc said in Trump vs. DeSantis:
Trump's very first TV spot of the 24 election season.
Saturday Night Live has really gone downhill of late.

No doubt intentional.

And the Democrats continue to smile and rub their hands, hoping that President Trump is the Republic candidate.

They better rub their hands and hope Biden is not the Demonrat nominee.
But I think they are working on that...

Made me like DeSantis a little more…
But as to the quality of the ad… Seriously? Of all the potential Sci-Fi futures we could have selected have we really decided on Idiocracy?

So on one side we have a guy that was good friends with Jeffrey Epstein (called him a terrific guy), supports Disney and their grooming ways, and not only argues against the Bud Light boycott, but is an investor and has tried to promote Anheuser Busch… A guy that shut down the United States for months and allowed the most basic and fundamental rights to be taken away for many weeks on the advice of Fauci. A guy the swamp he railed about take the reins of the country for months in the middle of a crisis.
On the other side we have a decorated Naval Officer that served 3 successful terms in the House, and then successfully led one of the largest states in the nation through COVID by adhering to certain principles, most notably that in the middle of an emergency is when you most have to respect our fundamental rights. He has adroitly and compassionately removed CRT (which prospered under the Trump/DeVos Education Department) and trans idealogy (which prospered under the Trump/Azar Health and Human Services…How many kids transitioned between 2017 and 2021?)…
How is this even a question?

Gov. DeSantis is trying to walk a thin line - show that he is different from President Trump, but also not attack him directly.
QUOTE
“As a naval officer, if I would’ve taken classified [documents] to my apartment, I would have been court-martialed in a New York minute,” he told a Republican Party convention in Greensboro, North Carolina.
