Asking for a friend

In, say, 2 or 3 weeks, if someone got fired for not returning to the office, and said office had a silly level of safety measures in place, I wonder what recourse that person would have if they were denied unemployment.

What started as a rhetorical question might very well be answered in concrete terms in the coming weeks, stay tuned!

Start publicly asking (now, not later) -
-
Has the HVAC been serviced, filters replaced and upgraded? Have outside air regulators/economizers been set to encourage as much outside air as possible? What steps are being taken to improve circulation in the office? Will windows be opened, doors, etc?
-
Physical Distancing - Will all desks and workspaces be separated? How far? Are there barriers? Are public spaces being clearly marked with tape to show appropriate distancing?
-
Mask policies - when are they required and when are they optional? Are there consequences for not wearing a masks in areas they are required?
-
Occupancy numbers.... Will there be limits to the number of people in the building? Will steps be taken to reduce unnecessary employees in the building?
-
Sanitizing common touch areas - how often? Will it be documented?
-
Hand sanitizer stations? Where? How many? Type of hand sanitizer?
7)Temperature checks? Are they being mandated? Will employees with a fever be sent home?
-
What are the plans if employees test positive? Or if an employee’s doctor recommends self-quarantine?
-
Are there considerations for those that are more at risk? Are there considerations for those who have partners or children that are at greater risk?
Again, ask now and ask publicly at meetings. Also document the requests and answers.

Weird. I used parentheses and numbers in each bullet point and when posted, it indented them all and subbed a period in for the parentheses on each except for #7... Try quoting the above post and look at the differences...

That's an awesome list. And yeah, already started with the documented conversations. There's a committee being formed to determine how to open the office. Literally, they're going to assess risk to life and health via committee. No experts, just a committee. I asked to be on it just so I can document the decline.
