Framing something this year?

It's a little more complicated than it used to be.

I admit, I didn't know the bit about the nails and the treated floorplates.
My current project is nearing completion. I've got to hammer in a few siding nails where some of the T-111 is just tacked up with a finish nailer, put the soffit up, install lockset and paint the shed.
Windows aren't in, as my supplier didn't have any. I'll chase some down.
What I have learned...
- I've gotten really slow. Take a sight on a fence post to see if it's moving slow.
- Thank God for friends. A buddy of mine helped (actually he probably did more work than I did) and he certainly was the brains of the outfit.
- Roof work is over for me. Never did like heights and I guess I've gotten worse.
- Not as strong as I was ten years ago. I used to could sling 5/8 OSB up onto a roof or pack a full bundle of shingles up an extension ladder. Those days are gone.
- Roofing nailers are the shiznit. Bought a Rigid for $159 and it never missed a lick.
So, some words of advice for those if us who've gotten a little older....
- Your project is going to take a little longer.
- Make sure you have ibuprofen.
- Nailers - framing, finish, roofing - are your friends.
- Material is still high. Plan accordingly. (Or, being the frugal rat that I am, talk your wife into playing for a revival, so the bivocational pastor who runs the building supply store gives you contractor pricing
).
