Trump is doing what Obama couldn't
An irony of Trump's presidency is that he's become a catalyst for progressive change
    Analysis by John Blake, CNN

“(CNN)Some Democratic voters are looking for a candidate who can restore the optimism of the Obama era.

But what if the progressive champion they're looking for is already sitting in the White House?
Call it the audacity of President Trump: He is bringing more hope and change than Obama ever could.
    ...”

As @George-K and Wolf Blitzer are fond of saying, “this, is CNN.”

What a silly article. Obama didn't bring any optimism at all.

Nah, that's the opinion of one guy writing for CNN. I doubt it's the opinion of the editorial board.

Back in the days of The (Old) New Coffee Room, I remember being chastised because I quoted an op-ed in the New York Times. The (unnamed) chastiser pointed out that it was an op-ed printed by the NYT, but did not represent the opinion of the paper itself.

          A useful distinction.

For example, Tom Cotton's op-ed was decidedly NOT endorsed by the paper.

No opinion can be considered morally coherent unless its first priority is to end all racism.

Trump is doing what Obama couldn’t and then Democrats are looking for the optimism of the Obama era.

The argument doesn’t even hold together. Okay, was that your point Ax?
