You missed the whole “before COVID” at the beginning.. this was early January 2020. Ad do you doubt Trump was going to win before COVID?

But even in Jan 2020 I doubt Trump would have beaten Washington and Lincoln by 40.

I’m going to point out again that they would be Zombies. Could you imagine Trump running against that? You know he would have brought up the whole eating brains thing. Plus, Washington signed a document stating Black people were worth 60% of White people and weren’t allowed to vote. And Lincoln? Granted, his hands were huge, but come on…

In January Biden wasn’t even going to beat Bernie. It wasn’t until COVID made Trump vulnerable that the moderates came together strongly enough behind Biden. It also allowed Biden to avoid making gaffes at public gatherings and release statements from his basement. And there is no doubt that all of the expanded mail in voting played a significant part in Biden’s win.

To be clear I feared a Bernie win in the primary back in January, but I thought a moderate Dem (which Biden historically was though isn’t now) would beat Trump.

Clearly party discipline in February before SC stopped a Bernie win, the very such discipline the GOP couldn’t muster in 2016.
