Elvis

Watched it last night. Great cinematography, fantastic acting, repulsive characters. The portrayal of Elvis as a pretty woke cat, hanging with all the Memphis black musicians is suspect. He grew up in Mississippi.
But if Hanks doesn't get an Oscar nod for Colonel Tom Parker I'll eat my hat.

Have you seen it? Hanks is almost unrecognizable. You are accustomed to seeing him in pretty likeable roles. In this he is a snake.

@Mik
I won't be able to see it; I have no TV.But don't you imagine Tom Hanks kind of enjoyed playing a snake? For a change from his usual sympathetic roles?

BTW, I knew a few guys from the Memphis Electrician's Union that knew Elvis from when they were working on jobs in Memphis.
Elvis usually said he was driving a truck in those days...The guys working with him said he was a gofer, driving a pickup and hauling material to the jobs.
All of them said he was a really soft-spoken, nice kid.
