Geaux Tigers! vs. War Eagle!

Didn't happen for me. One billion reasons...

You wouldn’t think so, would you. If anything brings the mouse down it will be hubris. Prices at Disney World have skyrocketed and it is nearly impossible to get dinner reservations.

Daughter's family is going this fall. It's going to cost them close to $7K. And they are driving, not flying.

And the parks are overpacked. You can spend 3 hours in line for rides, and they have a ridiculous ride reservation system that requires them to get up at 6AM and spend an hour refreshing the app every ten seconds trying to get a reservation for a particular ride and competing with 100000 other people doing exactly the same things. As the parks are overcrowded AND you are standing in 2-3 hour lines, tempers are getting short, and you wind up losing all of the magic.

As of this month, Disney+ has lost over $1B for the Mouse House.
Brings up a question...Everybody tells me that streaming is the next big thing. Why the huge loss? Disney+ has some very popular channels.

Disney always planned for this to be a loss until 2024, and 2022 was always supposed to be the lowest point. The platform is actually exceeding their most favorable projections.
1st there was always going to huge losses of revenue from the properties that they previously were leasing out to other services and then chose to not renew those agreements.
2nd the huge amount of original programming they have been creating for the Marvel properties and Star Wars projects… Those were always meant as loss leaders to bring subscribers in AND to promote the theater projects. They estimate Dr. Strange 2’s box office was boosted by $300 Million thanks to the connection with WandaVision on Disney +.
The losses were expected and planned for. As I mentioned, they are exceeding their own expectations right now.
