Reminiscent of the teachings of a certain public intellectual from the New Coffee Room.

      Education is extremely important.

True? Or written by Huxley in a fit of vicious cynicism?

I would hate to think it's true.

          But I fear it is.

It’s part of our cultural programming to find a truth like that to be vicious cynicism. The truth isn’t pretty, and we prefer pretty.

The saying, "Lite is just one damn thing after another," is a gross understatement. The damn things overlap.

I wasn't doubting that Huxley said it. I was wondering how true it is.

He goes incognito here, but actually one of our number is a widely respected public intellectual. I’m not comfortable betraying his confidence by naming him though.
