    Why the FBI?

    Here's why.

Mark Houck, 48, of Kintnersville, PA, was charged by Indictment with a violation of the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act, which makes it a federal crime to use force with the intent to injure, intimidate, and interfere with anyone because that person is a provider of reproductive health care. The defendant was arrested and made his initial appearance in federal court on these charges earlier today.

According to court documents, the defendant is alleged to have twice assaulted a man because he was a volunteer reproductive health care clinic escort. The charges stem from two separate incidents both on October 13, 2021, which occurred at the Planned Parenthood Elizabeth Blackwell Health Center on Locust Street in Philadelphia, where Houck allegedly assaulted the victim, a 72-year-old man, identified in the Indictment as “B.L.,” because B.L. was a volunteer escort at the reproductive health care clinic. In the first incident, B.L. was attempting to escort two patients exiting the clinic, when the defendant forcefully shoved B.L. to the ground. In the second incident, the defendant verbally confronted B.L. and forcefully shoved B.L. to the ground in front of the Planned Parenthood center, causing injuries to B.L. that required medical attention.

“Assault is always a serious offense, and under the FACE Act, if the victim is targeted because of their association with a reproductive healthcare clinic, it is a federal crime,” said U.S. Attorney Romero. “Our Office and the Department of Justice are committed to prosecuting crimes which threaten the safety and rights of all individuals.”

“Put simply, violence is never the answer,” said Jacqueline Maguire, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI's Philadelphia Division. “Violating the FACE Act by committing a physical assault is a serious crime for which the FBI will work to hold offenders accountable.”

            Wait.

I thought words are violence? That's what I've been reading for the last couple of years.

The guy who was "assaulted" called a 12-year-old a fag, according to reports. Why isn't he locked up, Director Wray?

                I see two big problems:

                1. This current Federal emphasis on domestic terrorism is ludicrous. The FBI needs to mind its beeswax and concentrate on crime, which has become rampant in many cities.

                2. Force levels. Police are not the military. Police do not need overwhelming force for a simple arrest. A warrant and two guys in suits could have taken care of this with ease. You don't need a SWAT team and drawn guns to arrest a guy for shoving someone.

What a moral panic looks like. People at the levers of power may be calculated with the levers they pull, but the rank and file indoctrinated masses have to be on board with a true moral panic. People like that are an existential threat to our very democracy, just ask your local leftist. Or similarly, Desantis’ shenanigans with the illegals is indicative of sociopathy permeating the Republican Party. Just ask your local leftist. This is what moral panic looks like.

                      Education is extremely important.

FBI's getting king of slack on this shit lately. Had they brought their A-Game, they would have had CNN cameras in front of the house and done it before sunrise.

                        Sad.

I've read in a couple of places a civil suit against Houck was already dismissed. I also cannot find where he was ever charged by local law enforcement for anything.

                          Anybody have any other information?

So...If the civil suit was thrown out, and local law enforcement did not arrest him, why (besides political reasons) would the FBI do an assault on this guy's home?

                                Different alleged crime?

The civil suit was a tort, not part of any state or federal statute. The assault was alleged and complaint dropped. Local authorities decided that "no reasonable prosecutor" would pursue the case.

The FEDERAL allegation is on the basis of a different law - one that makes it a FEDERAL crime to interfere with access to abortion maternal health services.

And it took them a year to build a case?

In the first place, I wonder if the shoving incident was because of trying to deny a woman access to an abortion or because the escort told Hauck's son his dad was a fag? If that is the FBI's case, that is thin gruel, indeed.

Have the Democrats opened up ppolitical war on Christians?

I commented on that. Certainly, that qualifies as a "Hate Crime," amirite?

The saying, "Lite is just one damn thing after another," is a gross understatement. The damn things overlap.
