DeSantis' days might be numbered...
I remember sitting on a bus next to a guy who'd lived there his whole life during a company shindig at Boca Raton, and he said 'Never move to Florida - it's a bloody awful place for about 8 months of the year - like Australia, but without the humour!'

No, I was joking. A bunch of New Yorkers move to Florida, the State turns blue.
I wasn't joking about what the Floridian told me. If you live in FLA, you really need a holiday home in a civilized place too.
Toughen up, buttercup and go work on your tan.

I moved from NY to FL once and from FL to NY twice.
The NY to Fl move was somewhat fake and done for tax reasons when I was an expat. Even though I had no address in NY, I was still subject to NY state tax since I was still being paid in USD by a US company and had had NY as my last residence.
So a friend and I in the same boat split a one br apartment in Miami to actively establish residency there. We’d use it maybe once every six weeks but it saved us money.

What was the sign on the door to not disturb? The proverbial tie on the doorknob?
