I want to branch out to more road biking (as opposed to paved bike trails). Given the traffic around here I would be far more comfortable doing it with a mirror.

Those of you with drop handle bars, what kind of mirror do you suggest?

The whole reason we call them illegal aliens is because theyโ€™re subject to our laws.

      1. Planning your route is key out there. Some country roads are very bike-friendly, some are death traps.
      2. Some folks use the helmet-mounted ones. Maybe look at those? I'd find them easier on your neck. They're standard-issue for groups around here.

      Please love yourself.

They are kind of small, but at least they are "aero" and what matters more? (trolling Aqua)

Actually, what I would do in your situation is something different.

There's a product from Garmin called "Varia". It's a back light but at the same time also a radar. You can connect it with your Garmin/Wahoo/..., and it will show you in a very helpful way if there's a car behind you.

I don't personally own one of these, but several friends do, and they are quite happy with that for the purpose you describe.

Mount your cell phone to the handlebar. Install wireless backup camera on seat post.

My solution to this problem was to only go out really early at weekends, and plan out my rides, as Aqua said. Getting stuck on a really busy road is miserable.

Lockdown was great as the roads were so quiet, but now everybody's back driving the whole time, God knows where.

                I was only joking
