My Kawai CE200 digital piano has been wonky lately. The keys are noisy, "clackety" and squeaky. A couple of the keys are slow to return to home position after being struck.

I like it because it gives me the opportunity for silent practice at odd hours.

I reached out to a couple of local companies and one of them responded:

"It sounds like the keybed needs an overhaul which is doable. An overhaul can run $300-600 and possibly more depending."

Another place suggested $275 for a service call and 1 hour's service. A third says $95 for the service call, then $50 for the estimate - applied to the cost of repair.

Worth fixing? If I recall, it was about $1700 new.

Sounds like some of the plastic bits are starting to show their age. Similar thing happened inside my korg digital and is happening to my sister's clavinova. I'd replace.
