    Today's dollars? About $1050.

    It's condos now, and a 1 bedroom goes for anywhere from $210K to $369K for 750 square feet.

              That's a one room, not a one bedroom. Still pretty good for the prime location and landmark.

                  After all the unionized janitors became wealthy, they turned to philanthropic architectural monuments, to give a sense of meaning to their lives of idle privilege.
