Pretty much everything he records is. I just don't have the patience to listen to him.

Think back to the cool cucumber who faced down that BBC reporter who kept trying to put words in his mouth.
Very different man now. Far less disciplined. Even when he had all the time in the world to collect his thoughts.

Admittedly, I really haven't followed him, having first become aware of him in that interview that @jon-nyc referenced. The snippets of him that I have seen have been those related to his problem with medications and his mental health and a few short other clips.
However, my overall impression, flawed though it probably is, is that he has become rather self-aggrandizing, capitalizing on his rather sudden fame from that interview and his admonishing you to make your bed.

I don’t suppose it’s possible to maintain a solid reputation as an intellectual if you verge into political stuff. But it’s also not possible to achieve fame as an intellectual, unless you verge into politics. So there is no single person on the planet who is, by consensus, considered smart and wise regarding politics. Other than me I mean.

You should watch more of his stuff. He's not unhinged—the change in tone was tactical.
You can absolutely argue that it's a bad tactic—he's suggested as much in a recent video, talking about his open message to CEOs—but it is a tactic.

I tried listening to one his lectures/presentations on the war in Ukraine. I think I lasted about 20 minutes.
He should stick to to topics relating to his profession. He is actually compelling in that area as far as I can tell - which isn’t very far.

From what I've seen of his recent stuff, he's become very arrogant.
And he takes for ever to get to the bloody point.

Yeah, he sounds like your typical angry boomer these days. But I guarantee that you, and everyone else here, would have handled the shit that's been thrown at him with far less grace and sanity. So I also don't much care how much he's "slipped." It's amazing he's not dead.
And he takes for ever to get to the bloody point.
That's never changed.

Yes the difficulty of this task he has chosen is enormous. Flippant dismissals of the guy are ridiculous.
