A cab ride on a gorgeous model railroad. Watch it in a large window. The attention to detail....

The saying, "Lite is just one damn thing after another," is a gross understatement. The damn things overlap.

Amazing how real it looks (of course, exclude the ceiling and walls).

I remember seeing (what I thought) was a really cool model train at a museum in Chicago

          Sharing this with someone…
The work through the tiered tunnels is amazing. I wonder how they maintain access in there.
Even on a small scale, like a 4’ x 6’ layout, it can become addictive & expensive, I’ve watched the process. There’s much to consider planning it, much detail to attend to with every step building it. It takes art skills to get it to look right. I remember helping someone create a mountain face. Fun yes, but way harder than any craft project I’d attempted. Once I got to painting it, I dove deep into a hole second guessing rock colors, was referencing pics of local mountains, was constantly rethinking trees & shrub bits. But those who do it as their hobby get loads of pleasure with it and make life time friends through clubs. Fun fact .. Rod Stewart is a model railroader.
