Covid is nowhere near as bad as being beaten up by the police.

https://www.wired.com/story/what-minnesotas-protests-are-revealing-about-covid-19-spread/The headline says Minnesota, but there are data points from other cities that have had sizable protests as well.
There are more details and discussion of hypotheses in the article, but the measured test positive rate among protesters so far is around 1%.

Everything causes Covid spread, months and months of this being drummed into our heads from every angle....except protests.

@Loki If the measured infection rates stay low for “outdoor, with mask, move around a lot” protests, it will translate to loosened restrictions for other “outdoor, with mask, move around a lot” gatherings.
Be happy that we are learning more about what affects infection rates. Such knowledge is good for humanity.

We couldn’t have learned the same thing about going to beaches?? Funny how things work. Beaches=disaster, now protests=okay.
It’s so lame to have to take this.

It's like advancing the the art of medicine in war theaters. We could have eventually learn all that stuff through other means in other settings, but war was upon us so we learn from them anyway, in accelerated pace.

So that makes sense except there is no talking around the bias.
There is no way to responsibly report that protesting is okay and then tell people to be vigilant. It’s worse than Trump not wearing a mask.
