I have a strangely emotional response. She’s been probably the one constant all my life.

Yeah, I'm exactly the same way.

Duty bound and thoroughly devoted to service until the very end. May Elizabeth R rest in peace.
The end of an era.
Long live King Charles III.

A very apt description. I wonder if we will ever see the likes of her.
I was reading somewhere that he is unlikely to keep Charles since the predecessors were pretty bad.

(Phibbs) Yeah, I'm exactly the same way.
Me, too.
My initial reaction: (First, a deleted expletive), but after that: Oh no, oh no, oh NO.
So much has happened to tilt the world I know, but this . . . this is going to take some getting used to.
And special condolences to Phibbs and Renauda.

That's what Mrs. George said. Why not just "Queen," because Charles divorced Diana?

I am reeeaally gonna louse this up, but it has something to do with the King's first wife is the one and only Queen because in times past, her virginity was assured (so a bastard from somebody else conceived before the royal wedding didn't wind up in the succession). That is believed not to be applicable to any other woman the King takes up with. So no other woman can be Queen.
Or something.

She has been a constant for many people, not just in the UK. I have nothing but great admiration and respect for her. I'm actually kind of teary.
RIP Elizabeth II.
