What are you willing to pay for “Free” Curbside Pickup?
-
Was putting together a list for pickup at Wegmans and I noticed that the milk I normally buy at the store is 15% more than it costs in the store. I checked a few more items and they matched up to 15%…
Now I don’t mind paying for service, but I do mind being misled… And it does make me wonder, is it worth paying somebody $30 for an hour’s worth of shopping?

The 15% added by Wegman or by some 3rd party platform that let you place your Wegman order?

It’s all in house…

Oh, I know the actual picker employee is only making their base hourly wage of $16 per hour, which they will get paid whether they spend 30 minutes pulling my groceries or not. I also get that a portion has to go help cover the costs for the online shopping tool. I just feel that:
A) Don’t pee on me by charging 15% and tell me it’s raining by stating it’s a free service
And
B) 15% is awfully high for value of the service to most people…

It's not in house, they use Instacart. Try Harris-Teeter. They are owned by Kroger.
