It's a peculiarity of human psychology that, as long as you've defined the political 'other' as evil in your own head, you can marginalize them to your heart's content because of how divisive they are. I mean, evil people must know that decent people simply cannot interact with them, right? The divisiveness is totally their fault. They're the ones who choose to be evil.
