      @Jolly battery or air-powered?

        Air.

        Two damn cheap for battery. Plus, I own two compressors and two generators.

          And...I normally buy Bostitch, but the reviews were good and it recently had a price drop...

            Milwaukee makes great stuff. At least they used to.

            What's the project?

              Depending on what material costs...

              12x14 shed for all the wife's Christmas stuff. Build it on three 4x6 treated, double 2x6 perimeter joists, 2x6 floor joists on 2 foot centers,1" floor, 5/12 2x4 rafter trusses on 2 foot centers, 1/2 T-111 sheathing, 1/2 OSB decking with shingles. Leave the inside unfinished.

              I think a buddy and me can knock it together in three or four days.

                  I was tempted to get one, back in the day. However, my needs were limited, and I would be using it for finishing work - so finishing nails and brads.

                  Without an air compressor, it would be an electric, and back in the day, I couldn't justify the cost for either.

                    A small 2 gallon compressor (yep, I've got a small compressor) with run a 15g finish nailer and smaller. Might even run a framer, if you'll take your time. My two smaller nailer are oil-less Bostitch. I bought both refurbed and they've been well worth the money.

                      @Jolly

                      Is it a nailer or stapler. If the latter what gauge?

                      Like you I also have a Bostisch 6 gal. oilless compressor - bought it ten or so years back and it came with a stapler, brad nailer and finishing nailer. Great tool. This spring I was doing some auto body work on my truck and picked up a pneumatic polisher and two 11 gallon auxiliary air tanks. Not perfect but combo works well with existing compressor.

                      Oil less compressors work reliably so long as you never forget to bleed the tank when you have finished the task at hand.

                      Elbows up!

                        The Milwaukee is a framing nailer. 21 degree, 2 inch to 3.5 inch.

                        My small compressor is oilless. My bigger compressor is a standard oil-type unit.

                        My Bostitch guns are oilless and I tend to run them with the oilless compressor. That way, there is no chance of any oil being deposited on the wood. Makes it nice for finish work.
