There are boatloads of books I've not read that EVERYONE has read.

    • Dune
    • Moby Dick
    • Lord of the Rings
    • Lolita
    • 1984

    Trying to catch up...

      Read those.

For me it's Hornblower stuff, Faulkner's the Reivers, some more Auden (guy was a fucking genius), and any Thomas Wolfe.

But right now I want to read good books about pirates.

      Please love yourself.

        War and Peace

The saying, "Lite is just one damn thing after another," is a gross understatement. The damn things overlap.

            Kluurs, George, go read Lolita.

            Fascinating.

@jon-nyc Haven't read much Austen. Other than that I have the rest covered.

                Please love yourself.

Read those in the thread starter, read all the Hornblowers. Have no desire to delve off into the Deep Classics.

                    Try the A-M series...

Not so many pirates, but the twenty book series is actually one long story...

@Jolly The AM series was outstanding. It inspired me to read the 1st book, but I, for some reason, put it down after finishing.
