My guess is that “information related to nuclear weapons” is the most salacious phrase someone could concoct that has some stretchy connection to some part of the documents sought. Problem is that it doesn’t lend itself to criminal motive, short of a Lex Luthor sort of crime.

So what’s your theory as to why Trump hasn’t released the warrant?

Why would anyone petition to unseal a warrant against themselves, or why would they risk violating a court ordered public seal of a warrant? I don't know much about court ordered sealed warrants, but it seems that the seal would apply to all parties to not violate including the recipient.

Problem for whom? Does the statute in question require the establishment of motive?

Problem for those hoping this marks the death knell of his political career. Contrary to popular belief, I suspect there are enough swing votes at play that a red handed Trump caught dirty dealing government secrets would destroy him for 2024.

Unlike you, Trump does have a sense of humor.

I suspect that Trump is listening to his attorneys rather than Jon. At least, that's what I read in the news, that Trump was meeting with them. He's already said he would release it. I'm guessing their crafting whatever message they wish to accompany the document. Alternatively, they may be waiting to see what the affidavit says, before going public.

I have not spoken to him, so there’s no possibility of him listening or not to me. But if the warrant is sufficiently damning, he probably wouldn’t even need to hear from a competent attorney to know not to release it.

That’s putting aside the fact that it would be quite out of character for him to hire a competent attorney

Trump supports unsealing of search warrant

But late Thursday night, Trump in a social media post wrote, “Not only will I not oppose the release of documents related to the unAmerican, unwarranted, and unnecessary raid and break-in of my home ... I am going a step further by ENCOURAGING the immediate release of those documents, even though they have been drawn up by radical left Democrats and possible future political opponents.”

                    “Release the documents now!”

If he had information related to nuclear weapons, I’m pretty sure they are Chinese nuclear weapons.

He obtained this information in a daring raid on Peking led by Mr. Trump and Tom Cruise.

I don’t expect cnn to cover this story.

This seems like a roundabout admission that there were nuclear secrets at his house.

et tu, Horace? Who made you the official audience of TNCR, owed comments by the rest of us? I mean, you could have reacted to Ax’s post.

It is odd, though. Team trump seems to be changing their talking points from “hoax, they planted it” to “it was all declassified”.

The warrant itself is intriguing but the Espionage Act is so broad it’s not clear what they think happened and how. It’ll be interesting to see what charges are filed and what gets leaked next.

Perhaps a more interesting list is one that considers who was not charged. Let's start with the New York Times' exposure of NSA surveillance of al-Qaeda communications by Eric Lichtblau. Not only not charged, but awarded a Pulitzer.

The saying, "Lite is just one damn thing after another," is a gross understatement. The damn things overlap.

et tu, Horace? Who made you the official audience of TNCR, owed comments by the rest of us? I mean, you could have reacted to Ax’s post.

It is odd, though. Team trump seems to be changing their talking points from “hoax, they planted it” to “it was all declassified”.

The warrant itself is intriguing but the Espionage Act is so broad it’s not clear what they think happened and how. It’ll be interesting to see what charges are filed and what gets leaked next.

I did react to it. It made me think that some of us expected warrants to contain more information than they actually do. Then I wrote “crickets?” as an understated posting masterpiece, worthy of the official audience of TNCR.

I suspect Trump was, and decreasingly is, genuinely concerned by the possibility of planted evidence. And I suspect TDS sufferers would be happy with planted evidence that Trump was crucified over, as long as the scheme was never exposed. Thankfully it appears unlikely anything worthy of being planted will exist.

I’m personally gratified that TNCR is free from those settling on the comfortable conclusion that Trump planned to sell nuclear secrets to other countries.

Is Trump paranoid about planted evidence? Gee, why should that worry him? 🤣

As far as messages changing, I always get tickled at folks who expect their enemies to stand there like a grounded piñata and let their opponents beat them with a stick. Real life doesn't work that way. Not for Schumer, Trump, Nick Saban or any public or private figure.
