That was quite good. A couple of comments

"How many fat 90 year old people do you see?" At first, this made me laugh, but then think, that yup, he is right.
-
I dont think obesity is so easy to solve. There have been studies that show that
A. When people start to lose weight, the metabolism slows down so that they have to pregressivley eat less and less
B. some obesity is from whatever was in your "gut" when you were born

I think his point, based on all of the context, was not directed at the few who genuinely struggle with obesity. I think he was talking about the growing number of us who have become obese based on poor choices that are encouraged by the body positivity movement.

Do y'all think it has risen to the status of movement?
Not saying it won't, but has it? My impression is that it's trying hard, but hasn't really caught fire that much.

Is the body positivity movement really the cause of an increase in obesity, or is it just another thing to blame it on?
There's also been plenty of really pernicious propaganda over the years promoting the idea that being unnaturally thin is a good idea, particularly for younger women and girls.

You are absolutely right. I see in very obviously in Taiwan. So many young kids are pretty fat.
