What I heard from some young drivers these days are like this: the test taker gets tested on parallel parking first. If the test taker does well on parallel parking, then the rest of the test is shortened; the theory being that if you’re good at parallel parking then you’re likely also good at other aspects of driving. Otherwise the examiner takes the test taker onto a longer route for road test. :man-shrug:

In any case, congratulations to the young Miss D’Oh for getting her driver’s license. This is probably the most important and most practical rite of passage for teenagers living in the USA.

My test (in Brighton, Mass) was during a blizzard - once around the block. It might have been less than 7 minutes.
