          @Jolly I was going to post something along those lines, but..

          That's the Canal Street streetcar, if I'm not mistaken.

          There's a cab at each end of the car. When the car reaches the end of the line, he moves the electrical contact to the opposite end of the car to reach the catenary, and goes to the other end.

            Yep, that's Canal.

            Los Angeles also had a well functioning streetcar system at one time. Rumor is GM was the one who killed it.

              I've read several stories about how the auto industry, not only GM, was heavily invested in killing public transportation.

              Wouldn't surprise me at all.
