Have been back county camping the last two weeks and just saw this while picking up some provisions before going back into the wilds of BC.

    Thinking of you Larry.

This really is like a family reunion at a funeral. People returning from far away, sharing news, sharing the loss of a person known by all.

Larry can be pleased so many people care enough to share this time together.

The only thing missing is the post service buffet and coffee.

Nothing says funeral like a plate of egg salad sandwiches.

Lord, I forgot how heathenistic y'all are.

Larry was Baptist. And country. After services, you should have food, but we're talking Baptist food. Southern Baptist food. Fried chicken. Pot roast and gravy. Smoked pork shoulder. Snap beans and new potatoes. Butterbeans. Field peas. Fresh tomatoes and cucumbers. Some scattered casseroles, maybe a lasagna. Yeast rolls. Sweet tea.

              At least I hope so...

If it were up to me, a "strawberry pretzel salad" would simply be greens (spinach, lettuce, mixed greens, etc.) topped with strawberries and little pieces of pretzels. :man-shrugging:

Up here in the true North in the country, it’s food. Ukrainian food and lot’s of it. Pierogi, kubasa, nachninka, holopchy, khlib, borscht, griechka all washed down with rye whisky or Dido’s homemade horilka.

All blessed by the parish priest.

I have never seen such a list of foods I did not recognize. Pierogies and borscht, sure, but not the rest.
