G.O.P. Governors Cause Havoc by Busing Migrants to East Coast
If the illegal immigrants weren't a problem, what the hell difference would it make where they were bussed to? But no let's blame moving them from one state to another after they crossed the border illegally.
You reactionary, you.

Guess who's moving "migrants" to New York City?
The city government of El Paso, Texas, is busing illegal migrants to the Big Apple on the dime of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Deputy City Manager Mario DâAgostino told the DCNF Monday. The federal agency covers the travel costs of illegal migrants through a grant program. (RELATED: DC To Allow Illegal Migrant Students To Enroll In Schools)
âThe travel costs for migrants are covered through FEMAâs emergency food and shelter grant. The City/OEM submits for reimbursement on a quarterly basis as the process dictates,â DâAgostino told the DCNF.
âWith the goal to provide for the safety of the migrants from the elements and to preserve the communityâs transitory hospitality shelter capacities so they may continue to serve our homeless community, OEM [Office of Emergency Management] has sponsored and provided transportation services for migrants out of El Paso, which is reimbursable through FEMA,â he said.
Democratic New York City Mayor Eric Adams and the White House have both criticized Republican Texas Gov. Greg Abbott for busing illegal migrants to his city and Washington, D.C., with Adams accusing Abbott of using the migrants as âpolitical pawns,â in an Aug. 7 tweet.
Moreover, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre called Abbottâs actions âshamefulâ in July.
âWe believe itâs shameful that some governors are using migrants as a political tool, as a political play, when we should be making sure that weâre doing everything that we can to help folks who are coming into this process in a legal way and making sure that we do this in a safe way and respectful way. And I think it is shameful that that is happening,â Jean-Pierre said at the time.
The Office of Emergency Management has sponsored four charter buses to New York City, according to DâAgostino.

Lori Lightfoot hasn't yet taken the oath to be Chicago's next mayor, but she's already embraced the fact the Windy City is a sanctuary city, and she said Chicago will open its arms to immigrants seeking asylum.
Last week Lightfoot became the first black, female and openly-gay mayor elected for Chicago. The 56-year-old former federal prosecutor said President Donald Trump's threat to flood sanctuary cities with undocumented immigrants was "much ado about nothing," and that Chicago will embrace asylum seekers, much like she said her predecessor, Rahm Emanuel, would do.
"We have people who are routinely coming to this city. We have a whole infrastructure that's built up to make sure that their rights are protected while the city of Chicago has, under the current administration, provided funding for various groups to help support asylum seekers and other people that are going through the immigration court system. I expect it will continue, if not expand upon, those kinds of resources," Lightfoot said during a CNN interview with Anderson Cooper on Friday.
A statement from Abbott's office said that Chicago is being added as a "drop-off location" for future migrant buses in response to "President Biden's open border policies overwhelming border communities in Texas."
A spokesperson from Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot's office said in a statement that Abbott is "without any shame or humanity."
"As a city, we are doing everything we can to ensure these immigrants and their families can receive shelter, food, and most importantly protection. This is not new; Chicago welcome hundreds of migrants every year to our city and provides much-needed assistance," a spokesperson for Lightfoot's office said. "Unfortunately, Texas Governor Greg Abbott is without any shame or humanity. But ever since he put these racist practices of expulsion in place, we have been working with our community partners to ready the city to receive these individuals.
New York City Democrat Mayor Eric Adams, upon meeting the migrants on Aug. 7, said that the actions of Abbott are "horrific."

WGN Investigates has learned several dozen of the migrants Texas Gov. Greg Abbott sent to Chicago have now been relocated to a hotel in the suburbs without advance warning to the local mayor.
âI am concerned neither the village administrator nor I were told about this,â Burr Ridge Mayor Gary Grasso told WGN. âWe want to know: Why Burr Ridge?â
Just days ago, Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot blasted Abbott for treating the migrants like âcargoâ and not providing her with advance notice they were arriving.
âMy frustration comes from the actions of the governor of Texas,â Lightfoot said Sunday, when the first bus load of 50 migrants arrived. âThere could be a level of coordination and cooperation, but he chooses to do none of those things and instead tries to send human beings â not cargo, not freight â human beings across the country to an uncertain destination.â
On Wednesday, a group of 75 more migrants arrived in Chicago from Texas.
Democratic politicians including Lightfoot, Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle and Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker have vowed to welcome the migrants and provide a full range of services to meet their immediate needs.
Chicago is a so-called sanctuary city and so is Cook County. Local officials have passed laws meant to protect immigrants from deportation. However, the portion of Burr Ridge where many of the migrants are staying is actually in DuPage County.
While campaigning for Congress, Grasso said he would work to secure the border and âdefund sanctuary cities.â However, Grasso noted his village board had not taken a position on sanctuary cities.
Grasso said he only became aware of the migrantsâ arrival in his village after residents began alerting village officials. He has since been invited to an online meeting with state officials.
At a Thursday morning event, Pritzker did not specifically address the location of the migrants but criticized Texas officials for treating them like cattle.
âWhat the governor of Texas is doing is disgusting and it needs to stop,â Pritzker said. âIt shouldnât be that the governor of Texas is taking these people and treating them like cattle, treating them like property, putting them on busses and sending them wherever he wants to send them.â

Burr Ridge is an upper-middle-class suburb, about 25 miles southwest of Chicago. It is, as the article says, not in Cook County. The median income is $151K and it has a population of 11,134.

Chris Hayes:
Apparently "flinging" wasn't a problem 15 months ago.
Chattanoogaâs Wilson Air Center is receiving planes carrying migrant children who are being bused to multiple southeastern cities during overnight hours.
Channel 3 obtained video of one of those planes arriving Friday, May 14 shortly before 1:30 a.m.
A second video, shared with Channel 3, shows more children arriving late Saturday night. According to the source who provided the video, a third plane carrying children arrived Friday afternoon. Flight records confirm that a fourth plane arrived early Wednesday morning, May 19.
The video obtained by Channel 3, shows children who appear to be in their early teens carrying matching bags. The children then boarded buses, which were staged on the runway. Two of the four buses seen in the video are owned by Coast to Coast Tours of East Point, Georgia.
According to a Coast-to-Coast employee, the buses were dispatched to Chattanooga as part of a contract with the United States Department of Defense. The employee says this was the first time the company had been asked to pick up migrant children in Chattanooga. In the past, the companyâs drivers have traveled to Mobile, Alabama, and Atlanta to transport children, according to the employee.

Of the illegal immigrants in NYC housing, more were transported to the city by Biden (middle of the night flights) than by Abbott and DeSantis combined.
Funny that there was no outrage about that, eh?
The leadership in Martha's Vineyard was upset that they weren't notified - cue the hysteria.
And when Lightfoot did the same thing to a suburb of Chicago...crickets.
