Why you want a possum an hou:
Possums are very useful animals. They love to eat snakes, particularly venomous snakes like the rattlesnake, copperhead, etc and are completely immune to snake venom. If you have possums in your yard, you won't have any venomous snakes... possums love to eat fire ants and as with snakes are immune to their poison. They also love to eat fleas and ticks. That's a pretty handy animal to have around.
