Let’s talk coffee brewing (again)

@Mark - I used the Aeropress for years as my daily go-to. Great little do-dad.
@LuFins-Dad If you want to "step up" the drip machine - look into something like the Bonavita. The only thing different there is that the water is heated to a precise, controlled range so you get a consistently good cup of coffee.
The other place to invest is a good burr grinder.
The big difference between french press and drip is the paper filter. On a french press you get all the coffee oil (cafestol, I think), and in drip the paper filters out almost all of it. Some people like the taste of that oil, some don't.

Another good way to modify the flavor is to feed coffee beans to your cat, and then sieve through the cat litter and then shove all of the bits that don't smell too rank into the good old Mr. Coffee machine.
It's a bit of a hassle, but trust me, you'll be truly astonished by the taste.

That's disgusting.

Although it's called monkey poop coffee, they don't actually digest the beans, just chew and spit them out.
-
Oh, rhesus monkeys, also.
Before harvest...

Also with civit cat coffee (Kopi Luwak) from Indonesia.

I tried that sort of coffee before. Ironically it gave me gastrointestinal issues. It is good though.

That's a pale imitation of the cat poo stuff,
Of course, my method is much cheaper, and I'd be willing to bet that the flavour is considerably more distinctive.
