    Let's assume your wife lost the keys/fobs to a 2012 Nissan Rogue and a 2017 Cadillac XT5

    How would you replace them?

It looks like each key needs a certified blood-sucker to program the blank key. And the blood-suckers want you to buy the blank keys/fobs from them. So, don't bother with the $19 blanks on Amazon.

Some Googling tells me they could cost about $100-$300 each. Does that sound right?

My Nissan Murano's one cost $400 total I think.

        Depends.

I had a locksmith reprogram one for my 2011 GMC for about $100, IIRC

My GMC Key was going to cost about $150, but I got one done at Batteries Plus for $50.

Maybe you’d wish that Sen. Warren might support legislation that standardize car keys/fobs now?
