RIGHT … TO EAT DINNER”— On Wednesday night, D.C. protesters targeting the conservative Supreme Court justices who signed onto the Dobbs decision overturning the constitutional right to abortion got a tip that Justice BRETT KAVANAUGH was dining at Morton’s downtown D.C. location. Protesters soon showed up out front, called the manager to tell him to kick Kavanaugh out and later tweeted that the

While the court had no official comment on Kavanaugh’s behalf and a person familiar with the situation said he did not hear or see the protesters and ate a full meal but left before dessert, Morton’s was outraged about the incident. A rep for the chain steakhouse sent Lippman this statement:

“Honorable Supreme Court Justice Kavanaugh and all of our other patrons at the restaurant were unduly harassed by unruly protestors while eating dinner at our Morton’s restaurant. Politics, regardless of your side or views, should not trample the freedom at play of the right to congregate and eat dinner. There is a time and place for everything. Disturbing the dinner of all of our customers was an act of selfishness and void of decency.”

    Yeah, Politico, that's funny AF.

"The Right to eat dinner." LOL.

Do you think what Schumer said/did was equivalent to what Trump did or better/worse?

Oh, I don't want to get into a pissing contest as to who's worse.

However, Schumer issued a direct threat to the justices of SCOTUS.

And with regard to protests, what, exactly, did Trump say? I'm not interested in what the Jan 6 "commission" has found about the goings-on in the West Wing, or the Presidential Limo. What did he actually say to the people?

And, if you're going to cite "Go to protest," as part of his speech, be sure that you include the "peacefully" part of it.

He refused to accept the will of the electorate. He said that Joe Biden would be not be a legitimate President.

I cannot remember this ever happening in any country I've lived before. He edged the USA closer to becoming a banana republic.

You don't think this is a big deal?

And sure, I'm sure you can find examples of congress people saying this type of thing. But he wasn't a Congressman, he was the Head of State.

And incidentally, I have no interest in trying to defend Schumer. The move towards banana republic continues....

Because he thought the election was stolen. A lot of people do. Millions, in fact.

And it's not necessarily from anything Trump said. Look at Carl Rove's most important counties. Look at the votes that suddenly "appeared" after 2 AM. Look at Dem cheating in urban areas in the past. Look at allegations of ballot harvesting and the nursing homes that voted 100% Democrat. Look at the split tickets. Look at the problems with mail-in ballots. look at the Dems fighting election reform on every front and their attempts at letting illegals vote in our elections.

It doesn't pass the sniff test.

If the Dems want people to accept the results of elections, work with the GOP to make elections fair and not subject to tampering by any means, by either side. That's good for all of the people.

Now, hide and see what happens...

The protesters did not enter the building, so it's somewhat better than some of the incidents with Cruz, etc.

But I still don't like it. I don't like people protesting at people's homes, doxxing the addresses of their church or their children's schools. The next step is physical.

TG said the other day that people are born with innate common decency. To that, I say Hah! to her face.

I agree with everything you said above, (except for the last sentence 555)

You, for example, (or me) would not think of doing something like that to the judge, even if you disagreed with the person. I think that is a part definition of human decency. I think pretty much everyone else on this forum board is the same also. So yeah, I do think that most people have common decency.

What I don’t get is why? Okay, the court made it’s decision and you are pissed. Harassing them at this point accomplishes nothing. The next move is harassing legislators, both state and federal. Harassment and intimidation of the judiciary accomplishes nothing except wasting your time.

There should be an automatic function on the internet that when she says something, it is automatically deleted.

And the protesters, something should happen to them. It is really bad of them to do that.

While @Jolly , @George-K and I may disagree with the Supreme Court decision, we should respect it.

I really haven't expressed my opinion on the Court's decision, have I?
