Point of clarification about these kinds of photos: one does not simply "color" a black and white photograph. Whether they used AI, photoshop or did it O.G. by messing with the negatives, it's all still pretty much a guess.

In other words, they make them look more modern (and therefore realistic), but that doesn't at all mean the scenes at the time actually looked like this. Color grading choices can change an image by a staggering amount.

still pretty cool, but Aqua is correct. It is just an interpretation of the the original was like.

It's amazing how "modern" some of these photos suddenly look. Almost as if somebody snapped a photo with his cell phone yesterday. The color does make a difference.

I think it was the History Channel that had a series called WWII in color. Rather than "colorizing" the B&W film, they sought out actual color footage from WWII.

As @Klaus says, it really changes the way you see things.
