I was once kicked out of a minstrel show for lowering the tone even more than normal.

Ah, but have you ever been kicked out of the Girl Scouts for eating brownies?

To be serious for a second, as far as saving my country goes, I'm just trying to make an honest living.
Not to virtue signal, but it strikes me that if more people on both sides just focused on doing that, the country wouldn't need saving.

That I agree with.

@Larry I must really suck at writing.
The printing press helped foster the nation state as a political construct.
Before that city-states were the dominant political entities.
As common languages and ideas solidified - common identity began to coalesce across cities into a nation.
Re-read what I said with that in mind.
I’m saying the nation-state as a concept is under threat from social media.
No one is trying to start a modern nation state or city state.
You spend too much time navel gazing over nonsense and not enough time getting to the meat of a problem. I don't give a damn about printing presses and city states. None of that has a damned thing to do with this.

To qualify the Canadian thing, to unconfuse Larry...
Turban, not dot.
Oh, and big knife.
So, you were close.

I am sure since a long time ago, if someone of the party (generic) you dont agree with, you feel the world is going to collapse. And yet things seem to keep going along just fine.
The Democrat and Republics all think the same thing - if our party was in power and we could do anything we want, the US would be this beautiful utopia. It is the other party that ruins it by doing (insert your favorite hate thing here).
I dont think that most people in the US realize how good they have it. People always seems to want to complain about things that they dont have rather than be appreciate of things that they do have.
