We're shopping for some new furniture (sofa & loveseat) and discussing covering. Our current stuff has seen better days, and the leather is starting to wear after 13 years.

We talked about fabric coverings, but the thought of having something that's not easy to wipe is not appealing to me. Years ago, we bought a sofa and loveseat that we didn't know were "bonded leather." Of course after several years, the stuff literally disintegrated. It was crap.

So, is there an alternative to genuine leather that will hold up, be easy to clean and look good?

Being as I'm having a fraught morning, I can't review Mr. Google on this question because I hate everything. So I'm passing it on to you:

Your cats don't tear your leather sofa up? Mine has totaled my old leather office chair.

@Jolly nope. They’re really good about using scratching posts etc.

Stella has made my leather chair a little rough to the touch in places but it’s not visible, so…

She only scratches on that chair to get my attention when she wants to play red dot.
