This might be a nothingburger - landing nothing more than a "lied to the FBI conviction."

But...

The judge who restricted what evidence can be brought in the trial said that, if the indictment is broadened, more evidence can be admitted.

IOW, he said, "cast your net wider."

The saying, "Lite is just one damn thing after another," is a gross understatement. The damn things overlap.
