I saw this on a FB group I follow.
This photo is from 1954.
"U505 German submarine about to cross Lake Shore Drive to become an exhibit at the Museum of Science and Industry, 1954. It was outdoors for decades and thousands of kids on field trips got to not only see it but also go inside it and touch things. They moved it indoors in 2004."
