In the days since WHCD weekend, reporters and staffers from CNN, ABC News, NBC News, CBS News, Politico, and other participating news organizations have tested positive for the virus. Most notably, ABC's Jon Karl, who shook hands with President Biden and who sat next to Kim Kardashian, has fallen ill, as Politico's Maxwell Tani first reported.

There is no exact data to indicate precisely how many people have caught the virus from the weekend. But, anecdotally speaking, much of Tuesday afternoon seemed to consist of attendees trading text messages and emails about colleagues and friends and people they had seen who had tested positive. That's almost certainly going to continue in the days ahead...

To paraphrase @jon-nyc 's comments, if the vaccination rate is 100%, every COVID-19 death will be among the vaccinated.

My understanding is that about 70% of the country is vaccinated.

Maybe not the right "analogy", but think about wearing a safety belt in the car.

Do people still die in car accidents while wearing a safety belt? Sure.

But, if you are in a accident, are the odds of surviving much better if you are wearing that safety belt? Sure

You talking about the world running out of booster shots or the efficacy of booster shots declining? Either way, lots of institutions are monitoring vaccine productions and efficacies, and those efforts will continue for quite a while yet, quite possibly long enough for SARS-CoV-2 to evolve to milder strains closer to the pathogens that cause common cold, then the world can just manage COVID-19 like it manages the common cold.
