I especially liked the idea of completely dismantling the Minneapolis police force. Who needs them?

I'm waiting for our leftward voices here to let us know whether the defunding of police should be a "legitimate concern", for those who would consider a defunded police force to be concerning. Just curious how we should calibrate our thresholds for legitimacy of concern.

      Education is extremely important.

Yes its a legitimate concern! I mean, no one's going to zero them out (I don't mean no activists want to, I mean no city council and mayor will do so). But we've already seen city councils vote to reduce police funding in the last few days, at least I think I read that some where.

Funny thing is small majorities of blacks say their communities are under-policed.

As far as I'm concerned, back up and let the people do their own policing.

            Will be good for them.

While they're at it, let them have the prisons, too.

Maybe we should just defund the white police

Since all police are bastards it would be more of an illegitimate concern.

(Note: I don't actually think all police are bastards. It's a pun.)

Dude, you ever watch a black cop shakedown a young black man?

They'd put a white cop under the jailhouse for that...

                        Try it!
Rochester, New York would be perfect. Eliminate the police, and see how it goes.

If it works, great! If not, well, sux to be you.

We already know what it looks like, since this was all beta tested in Portland.

Sort of. The problem in PDX is that as hard as the city tries, they cannot recruit sufficient numbers of new candidates.

Sort of. The problem in PDX is that as hard as the city tries, they cannot recruit sufficient numbers of new candidates.
It wouldn't be such a bad job, actually. City council hates you, most progressives hate you, street people hate you, your dog will hate you, wife runs away. But other than that. . . nice uniform, in a ninny sort of way.

And you get to ride bikes all over the place!

The saying, "Lite is just one damn thing after another," is a gross understatement. The damn things overlap.
