    https://www.theguardian.com/science/2022/apr/28/egg-factory-avian-flu-chickens-culled-workers-fired-iowa

Story on an egg factory stamping out an avian flu outbreak by cooking 5+ million chicken alive, then fired most of the workers who did the job (presumably many workers are no longer needed after a drastic reduction in the number of chicken to tend to).

Yeah, I eat eggs and chicken, but still uneasy to read about 5 million chicken being cooked alive (then discarded) to contain an avian flu outbreak.

Yeah, I can't quite get behind that.

I suppose it's better than an outbreak of avian flu, and the legal liability...

How else would you handle it?
