“Cry havoc and let slip the DOGE of war!”

Those who cheered as J-6 American prisoners were locked in solitary for 18 months without trial, now suddenly fight tooth and nail for foreign terrorists’ "due process". — Buck Sexton

      That's not a review, that's a rant.

He goes on and on for more than 6 minutes about how the franchise has lost it's way ("cultural vandalism" I believe he calls it), and has none of the virtues of the preceding incarnations.

      But, he's right.

There's absolutely nothing enjoyable about Picard (I haven't wasted my time with Season 2) or Discovery (I watched season 2 just because of Anson Mount - not wasting my time on 3). They are preachy, pushy, obnoxious shadows of what Trek was, and are overwhelmed with special effects and flimsy plot lines.

Like him, I'm done. I don't care. I'd rather watch reruns of "Friends" - and I've never seen ANY of that show.

The saying, "Lite is just one damn thing after another," is a gross understatement. The damn things overlap.

OK, Mr. Critical Drinker, now do "Dune."

        Oh, wait, he did.

I mostly stopped watching Star Trek in the 1990's.

If you compare it to Babylon 5 or The Expanse, it's kind of laughable. Even the remake of Battlestar Galactica....

          I was only joking

Same here. Never did anything after TNG.

The BG remake gets universal praise. I found that it kind of lost its way after 2 seasons, and the ending with all the "Surprise Cylons" was, imo, ridiculous. It's almost as though the writers ran out of ideas and said, "Let's just get fucking weird, it's the last season, and we are out of fucks to give."

Yeah, that was pretty silly. The last season of B5 wasn't great either, but I think that was mostly due to the fact that there was so much uncertainty about whether there'd be one.

Also, Tracy Scoggins was a terrible replacement for Ivanova. Just terrible.

I thought Enterprise had started to hit its stride when it was cancelled. Probably the only one of the more recent versions I thought had promise.

And who doesn't like a hot Vulcan?
