US Senate Visits Taiwan

The US Senate visited Taiwan. They were on a trip from Australia and stopped in Taiwan.
They were supposed to meet face to face with the President of Taiwan, but she is currently quarantined, so they met in a video call.
They flew on a US Air Force plane, so obviously, the trip was backed by the US government/president.

@Mik In the picture above? I think it was all of them, but am not sure.
It was just a joke, TG.

Only six U.S. lawmakers visited Taiwan this time.
They were reportedly lead by Sen. Menandez (D-NJ). I have not been able to find a complete list of all the US lawmakers who visited.
-
But they were there with a purpose not unrelated to what I suggested.

@Mik 555 You are correct. I was a bit confusing. I should have made the title plural. LOL
@Copper My apology. I posted the wrong picture. It was from a June 2021 visit by some US representatives.
MOFA has sent out a picture of the current arrivals.
But, they still did use a US government plane.
Arrivals were
US Senator Lindsey Graham
US Senater Robert Menendez
US Senater Richard Burr
US Senater Ben Sasse
US Senater Rob Portman
US Representative Ronny JacksonThey were met at the airport by Minister of Foreign Affairs Joseph Wu (吳釗燮)
