iOS 15.4 Face ID and face mask
-
Apple Inc. says "iOS 15.4 adds the ability to unlock with Face ID while wearing a mask on iPhone 12 and newer."
So, who uses Face ID?
Of course, Apple Inc. says nothing about what security compromises have been made to allow Face ID to unlock a device with the user wearing a face mask.
And of course this comes out after most institutions have stopped requiring face masks.

If you don’t like the timeliness of Apple’s rollout of mask compatible Face ID, then you can build your own smartphone with your own more timely mask compatible Face ID.
