I'm not sure whether there is any meaningful correlation between political leanings and programmer ability, but I think the more important influence here is that if you are a good programmer, you would hesitate to work at places like Parler because it damages your career.

That’s not the reason. He just didn’t like the way Twitter and its negativity was affecting his perception of people.

In which he admits his disgust reflex overwhelms his reason, even as he understands rationally that it shouldn't. That's how I've always described the psychologies of TDS sufferers, as Sam is. I guess it's inevitable that humans will respect their own disgust reflex, rather than question it. It's our "full stop" emotion.
