Go get 'em, tiger.
Twitter has seriously underperformed, in part due to it banning or seriously curtailing some people who had millions of followers... Trump, Tucker, Bongino, etc.
That's like saying a backup quarterback sucks ass. Compared to the most popular social media platforms on the planet, Twitter's still in the top 10, and 1 in 7 Americans use it regularly. That ain't nothin'.
And banning Trump has nothing to do with its not being #1. Nothing at all. Scads of conservatives are on there and have no problem with the platform. It's simply not as entertaining to use as YouTube, not as personal as Facebook, and not as addictive as TikTok.
Put your head in a bucket of water and take a deep breath.
In just the three names I mentioned, you have millions of followers with tens of millions of hits on their tweets or the tweet thread...That ain't chicken feed.
It's a common fallacy among people who don't use Twitter to believe the platform is exactly like it's portrayed in outrage porn articles. The vast majority of Twitter doesn't care about any of that. Individuals, influencers, small companies, non-profits, corporations... they use the platform and couldn't care less that Donald Drumpf was banned.
That's all well and good.
Now add in all the activity from reading and responding to Trump and those other people. For example, look at CNN's ratings after Trump left office. Twitter is leaving meat on the bone.

Amazing how no other competitors have stepped up to pick off those meat Twitter left on the bone, eh?
To Jolly's point, they literally have. Instagram, YouTube and Facebook have four to ten times the user base that Twitter has. But for example, Twitter has about 100 million more users than America has citizens, so the Donald Trump thing is just a drop in the bucket. It really doesn't matter in the big scheme of things.

Apart from pure schadenfreude, it doesn't matter to me.
But I'm enjoying the schadenfreude.

$64 question: In 12 months, how much effect will Musk have on the Twitter profit/loss line?

So the deal is closed? Not so clear. Stocks are still trading below $54.20, so I guess there's still risk.
The news is reporting that itâs a done deal. Get your popcornâŚ

Assuming the deal does through, this will not be your concern by then and you may never know because it Twitter would be a private company not obligated to publish its financial statements.

You'll know.
There is no such thing as a disseminated document that is not known beyond its original intended audience.

âDonald Trump says he wonât return to Twitter if Elon Musk reverses banâ
Donald Trump told CNBC on Monday he wouldnât return to Twitter even if Elon Musk, the companyâs incoming owner, reversed the former presidentâs ban.
.
âNo, I wonât be going back on Twitter,â Trump told CNBCâs Joe Kernen.
.
âI will be on Truth Social within the week. Its on schedule. We have a lot of people signed up. I like Elon Musk. I like him a lot. Heâs an excellent individual. We did a lot for Twitter when I was in the White House. I was disappointed by the way I was treated by Twitter. I wonât be going back on Twitter,â he said.
